Getting started with Zwind Photo Rotator

Set up Keep and Rotate rules once, then start each sync with one tap to reuse them.

Set up once, rotate again

Choose what stays on your iPhone and when the rest rotates to your own storage. Your saved rules select each new batch, so you do not have to sort your library again. View on the App Store.

Start with a small batch

  1. Allow Photos access. Limited access restricts scanning to the items you select.
  2. Add a reachable SMB share or WebDAV server as a backup destination. Use HTTPS for WebDAV where supported, and check available storage and write access.
  3. Create Keep and Rotate rules using age, media type, albums, favorites, screenshots, or text recognized on the device. Keep rules take priority.
  4. Scan, then review the selected photos and videos. Scanning alone does not delete anything.
  5. Confirm the backup. The app backs up your originals and verifies the backup before requesting deletion.
  6. Review the Photos system deletion request only after checking the backup and understanding its effect on synced devices.

Next time, tap Scan & Rotate to reuse your saved rules and destination. Confirm the batch; the app backs up and verifies it before requesting deletion. Keep the app open while it works.

History shows scan and backup results and provides resume controls for supported interrupted operations. Rule or destination changes can affect whether a scan can resume.

Understand deletion and storage

Deleting from Photos can also delete from iCloud Photos and other synced devices.

Deleted items stay in Recently Deleted for up to 30 days. The device space they occupy is released when they are permanently deleted there. To free that space sooner, open Photos → Recently Deleted and delete them permanently after checking your backup. You cannot recover them from Photos afterward.

You can also check Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Photos. If Empty Recently Deleted is offered, use it to empty the album.

Original files may include location information. Restoring files may not recreate every Photos library property. Check a small backup with your own storage tools before using larger batches.

Removing a backup destination or uninstalling the app does not delete backups on your storage. Manage those directly at the destination.

Privacy and Pro

Scanning, text recognition, and rule evaluation run on your device. Backups go to the SMB or WebDAV destination you choose.

The free version may show ads. A one-time Pro purchase removes ads; check the in-app purchase screen for pricing and availability. For details about data use and privacy choices, see the privacy policy.
