Share with friends or distribute event files

Prepare one data folder so people can collect files at different times.

Help

For a gathering, class, or meeting, you can make files available once and let people fetch them when they arrive. You do not need to start a new transfer for every person.

Prepare the session

  1. Put only the intended files in a dedicated data folder.
  2. Start the server and check its address from another device on the same reachable network.
  3. Share the folder or server link. If you use an external QR-code tool, encode that link so attendees can scan it.
  4. Tell recipients to open the link in a browser and download what they need.
  5. Keep the server running and the phone charged and reachable for the planned time. Zwind supports background operation; you can switch apps or lock the screen without keeping it in the foreground.

Several people can download concurrently, and later arrivals can use the same link while it remains valid. The limit is practical: Wi-Fi quality, phone resources, storage performance, and iOS background behavior all matter. Try the actual venue’s network before promising access for an event.

It does not upload your files to a public website, create an internet tunnel, or keep them available after the phone disconnects. Guest Wi-Fi can isolate devices even when everyone is on the same network name. If the phone’s IP changes, share the new address.

A shared login gives recipients the same server access; it is not a per-person permission system. Avoid exposing unrelated folders. Stop the server when the session ends. To receive submissions instead, see Collect files from many people.
