Fix a connection problem
Check the server, address, network, login, and destination in that order.
The address will not open
- Check that the intended server on Home says Running. Start it again if it stopped.
- Check that you are using the current server address shown in Zwind. Do not use
0.0.0.0,127.0.0.1, orlocalhoston the other device: those do not point to your phone there. - Make sure the other device can reach the phone. The same Wi-Fi is usually enough, but guest network isolation, VPNs, firewalls, and iOS Local Network permission can prevent access.
- Zwind supports background operation. If access stops after switching apps or locking the screen, reopen Zwind to check the server status and network connection. Do not force quit the app.
- Try the complete address in the other device’s browser before diagnosing a file manager or player.
An address is not an automatic internet sharing link. Do not assume it works from a different network.
The login is rejected
Use the selected server’s WebDAV username and password. The startup lock, biometric check, Quark cookie, SMB login, and other upstream secrets do not replace this account. If anonymous access is enabled, try the client’s guest or no-auth option.
Basic Auth over HTTP does not encrypt the credentials or file traffic. Use trusted networks. Windows may block this combination even with the correct password; see Computer connections for a dedicated-client alternative.
Browsing works but uploading fails
- Use a client with WebDAV write support, rather than the browser listing.
- Upload into a real writable subfolder, not the collection root.
- Check the underlying folder permissions, provider session, storage space, and supported operations.
- Virtual media listings can be read-only. Retry a small file in a known writable folder.
- Check whether a file with the same name already exists and how the client handles replacement.
Media will not play
Try downloading a small file. If downloads work, check the player’s codec and format support. A slow upstream service or congested Wi-Fi can also disrupt streaming. A TV connection requires the phone server to remain running after pairing.
A help update fails
Your existing articles remain readable. Retry Check for updates or Update later. Unsupported content versions are not installed; update the app when a newer reader is required. Help updates change documentation, not your servers or credentials.
