Connect with your computer’s file manager
Use the data folders from Finder, Windows File Explorer, or a Linux file manager.
A WebDAV connection lets your computer browse the folders served by your phone. You can download files and, where the destination supports writing, copy files back. It does not copy your entire phone onto the computer.
In the steps below, http://<host>:<port>/ is the server address. Replace <host> and <port> with the IP address and port shown in Zwind, or paste the complete address.
macOS: Finder
- In Finder, choose Go > Connect to Server or press Command-K.
- Enter
http://<host>:<port>/and choose Connect. - If the server allows anonymous access, choose Guest when offered. Otherwise choose Registered User and enter the WebDAV username and password.
- Open a data folder. Copy files from it, or into a writable folder.
Finder may show a security warning for an HTTP connection. Use it on a trusted local network. Disconnect with the eject button when finished.
Windows: File Explorer
- Open This PC in File Explorer. Use Add a network location, available in the toolbar or context menu depending on your Windows version.
- Choose a custom network location and enter
http://<host>:<port>/. - Follow the login prompt using the server’s WebDAV account, or anonymous access if offered.
- Name the location and open it to browse the data folders.
Windows’ built-in WebDAV support depends on the WebClient service and system policy. Basic authentication over plain HTTP is often blocked, and some versions also restrict guest access or large transfers. An address that opens in a browser can still fail in File Explorer. If that happens, use a dedicated WebDAV client that supports your HTTP server. Do not weaken a managed computer’s security settings just to connect.
Linux: Files / Dolphin
- In GNOME Files, open Other Locations > Connect to Server. In KDE Dolphin, enter a network address in the location bar.
- For these file managers, use
dav://<host>:<port>/for the HTTP server. Other clients may ask for the originalhttp://address instead. - Enter the WebDAV account if requested, then open a data folder.
Distribution packages and desktop versions differ; install the desktop’s WebDAV/GVfs support if it is missing, or use a separate WebDAV client.
Where do copied files go?
The chosen destination decides. A local data folder writes to the phone or its Files provider. A connected storage folder writes to that provider, when supported. Virtual media listings may be read-only. Upload to an actual writable subfolder, not the server’s top-level collection of folders. Try a small test file before a large transfer.
