Share files from your phone

Make a selected folder available to other devices while the server is running.

Help

Use this when a computer, friend, or player needs files that are accessible on your phone.

Prepare and share

  1. Add an accessible local folder to the selected server. For files managed by a Files provider, choose the folder through the app’s folder picker and allow access.
  2. Place the files you want to share in that folder. Zwind serves the selected folders; it does not expose every app’s private files or your entire Photos library automatically.
  3. Start the server and copy its address.
  4. Give the address to a recipient on a reachable network. They can use a browser, computer file manager, or WebDAV client.

You prepare the folder once. People can fetch files at different times while the server stays running, without asking you to initiate each transfer again. Multiple devices can access it, subject to storage and network capacity.

Finish sharing

Stop the server when access is no longer needed. Remove private files from the data folder or remove the folder from the server before the next session. For a read-only sharing workflow, tell recipients to use the browser; a writable WebDAV client may also be able to change the files.

Local files stay in their selected location. Downloading creates a copy on the recipient’s device. For files held in connected storage, see Connected storage.
